ABOUT

Etienne Rémond is a French photographer who's been doing photography for over 10 years. But it's in 2019, in Pristina - where he spent almost a year - that he was, for the first time, truly inspired.

Even though, for many, grainy footage of war may be the first thing that pops to mind when talking about Kosovo, it takes only a few days here to realise that these images belong to the past.
Immediately amazed by how vibrant and lively Prishtina was, he soon realised that what truly struck him was how strongly it contrasted with its brutal concrete frame.

That's what he has tried to capture while losing himself in the city and trying to make it his own: the life and energy contained within closed borders, an effervescent youth that exists loudly amidst ominous & decaying Yugoslav buildings, brand new hotels, and the never-ending ballet of cranes that goes with it.

Concrete beauty.
